Kiosk Maintenance Guide

This article shows you step by step how to do the maintenance wrench when devices fall into a maintenance state.

4. Maintenance on an iPad

LED above the iPad in maintenance will be flashing. Take it out and follow the screen.

On the kiosk screen, it will indicate you why the device was in maintenance. It will be one of the 3 states mentioned above. In those 3 cases, we suggest you follow the steps here :
  1. Reboot the iPad
  2. Select the "start" button
  3. Skip all setup page on the iPad and make sure it's on the home page with the icons.

  1. Re-insert the device into one of the kiosk slots
  2. Take out the next flashing device. If there are multiple devices in maintenance in the kiosk, they will all unlock 1 by 1 after you put the one you are working on in the kiosk.
Note : When you run the maintenance on a device, don't worry about what's on it, it may have not yet gone through his restore and might have missing applications.

5. Maintenance on a laptop

  1. Open the laptop lid to see the screen and the power button
  2. Press and hold the power button until the device shuts down.
  3. Press the power button again to turn the device back on
  4. As soon as you see the manufacturer's logo on the screen (Lenovo, Panasonic, Dell) when booting, close the laptop lid and reinsert it into one of the kiosk slots within 15 secondes.
  5. You have to make sure it's done before Windows starts loading because it might fail to boot on the network.
This procedure is only necessary for the maintenance process. It is not necessary on a conventional return.
